Adding FreeBSD's fetch(1) to NetBSD

Hello,

I'm considering to add FreeBSD's fetch(1) to NetBSD. There is admittedly
a lot of overlap between this command and our ftp(1). But it seems that
there is more widespread third party support for fetch(1) (see
e.g. http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/spamassassin/trunk/sa-update.raw ).

What do people think about this idea?

Kind regards

FreeBSD's or the heavily modified version in pkgsrc?

What non-overlapping functionality does it offer?

What non-overlapping functionality does it offer?
Or teach ftp to recognize fetch(1) in argv[0]?

I like that better.

I don't. It would basically require to have most of "fetch.c" in the FTP
source code with an check like the above.

I don't mind. What are the differences?

I think it's not much code, but it's particularly duplicative. I like
the idea of teaching ftp to understand fetch's command line syntax
better.
